Visit Website
What is it?
The Cancer.org website provides information on volunteer opportunities to help cancer patients in your community. You can register for free and once you find a volunteer opportunity, you can use the "my planner" feature. Support can be given by donations, participating in a fund raising effort, volunteering at one of the locations in your community, or becoming an advocate.
Why Visit?
Cancer will most likely touch your life either through someone you know, or someone in your family. It is a common disease that we have been fighting for decades. You can help though by volunteering in your local community through fund raising efforts or by donating your time to help those with cancer.
Its easy to get started, just click on the I want to help link. Once youre on the Supporters page, choose Volunteer and you will be taken to the Volunteer page. You can read additional information about the volunteer opportunities in your area as well as indicate your interest level in volunteering.
My favorite part of this website is the My Planner feature where once you have signed up to volunteer, you will be given access to a calendar, to-do list, bookmarks, and online groups where you can manage your volunteer activities.
