Profiles - Your Stories

Andrea Gold - Time Is Precious; Don't Waste It
Visit Website

1) What do you believe makes you special or interesting?
I have a huge variety of past experiences that contribute to a very eclectic view of what life really means to us. People enjoy my stories (I am writing a book on life lessons now because the stories are juicy and insightful; people can learn from them and EXPAND their minds about what is possible in their own lives). People tell me I am interesting. I dont see things the same way others do, sometimes.

2) What kind of effect have you had, or would like to have on the world? I have helped empower people to go DO what they desire to do and talk about doing. I want to reach more people on exactly this topic. My greatest passion is kicking people in the butt, so to speak, and making them realize they CAN do what they dream about, step by step, and by making the decision to DO it, and then to move forward.

I want people to realize their full potential in life; then I will feel I did my job well. When I share my experiences, I often hear, I wish I had done that. I retort, YOU STILL CAN! People set so many limits on themselves unconsciously. I think I am learning to release those limitations the older (and hopefully wiser) I get. And the end is nearer than the beginning now.

So time is precious; dont waste it! I remind people, through my actions and my words, of the things they can do to expand their own lives.

3) What events shaped or changed your life?
A lot of scary adventures, not just one thing. Searching for meaning by lots of travel and moving. A miracle experience with water appearing out of no where during a remote hike when thirsting for water (long story) and it appearing; how I dedicated my life to helping others then.

Starting the speakers bureau and dealing with incredibly talented speakers/experts/celebrities. Facing fear and going through it so I dont miss opportunities!

Also going to India to meet a living spiritual teacher (once went there alone, have been there 4 times). One of his sayings is, Life is a game, play it. And that has changed my perspective a lot on how I view life (serious vs. the game). And the events are still happening, still shaping my life. I feel very guided.

4) Did you overcome obstacles - take risks - get lucky?
Yes, yes and yes. Have stories on all these. And I am lucky on top of taking calculated risks, such as in starting the business I have (Gold Stars Speakers Bureau).

5) What have you done that no one would guess you'd done upon first meeting you?
An archeological dig in the Middle East. Posing for a life drawing class. Going to India for spiritual reasons. Slept overnight on a very hard, slatted bench outdoors, in the port of Piraeus in Greece with gypsies around. Shared a ride with a German guy on a camel (dromedary?) in the Sinai Desert-we dated after that.

Edited Navy ship manuals (it goes both ways). Created scripts and put on Marionette shows as a 6th grader for childrens parties as a business-made $12 a show back then around 1968! Ran for student council in junior high, using headbands with vote for Andy on them as promotional tools (and was on that council). Moved and lived and worked in many places and in many different types of jobs.

6) What is still left to be done in your life?
PLENTY. Plenty of places to see worldwide. People to meet worldwide - now there's the social networking, so I really have a huge international network to meet on top of business people. Expanding business internationally.

Books to write (writing one now). Information to share. A whole new division to create to share the tools to help people find their best pathways to success in life (whatever that means for each person). Reaching and teaching people how to live life fully (one of my favorite expressions).
