Brief Description of Yourself:
I am and always have been a Maverick Adaptive Design Scientist.
I went from cleaning tables for a dollar an hour in Gary, Indiana to mopping up process failures at major corporations throughout the country.
As I entered my “second adulthood” I traded the high frequent flying consultants life for a lower profile job that allows me to walk to work.
I installed grid connected solar panels on my house, gave up driving and wrote a modern myth about the last five days of a utopian experiment.
I have been happily married for 36 years and we have 3 children and 6 grandchildren.
1) What do you believe makes you special or interesting?
I do not consider myself special but others seem very interested in my unique perspective on events and trends.
2) What kind of effect have you had, or would like to have on the world?
In most everything I do I encourage people to consider the possibilities, to make waste their enemy and realize that “just the way it is” maybe isn’t so just.
3) What events shaped or changed your life?
More than anything, downsizing, outsourcing, shut downs and unemployment.
4) Did you overcome obstacles - take risks - get lucky?
Yes (see question 3), Yes (almost always took the path less traveled) and No (I don’t believe in Luck or coincidence, significant things happen for a reason).
5) What have you done that no one would guess you'd done upon first meeting you?
Once held the world’s kite flying altitude record.
6) What is still left to be done in your life?
Tell more stories, meet more people, gain more wisdom, build an ecologically sound, self sustaining utopian environment for my descendants.
