Bruce Bjorkman - A Barbecuing & Grilling Fanatic Visit Website
1) What do you believe makes you special or interesting? I am a barbecuing and grilling fanatic who has leveraged that passion into a full-time career in manufacturing (Traeger Pellet Grills), media (weekly talk show on KXL and the Radio NW Network), a book (The Great Barbecue Companion). From a pastime to a passion!
2) What kind of effect have you had, or would like to have on the world? Sharing the joy of great barbecue!
3) What events shaped or changed your life? Writing a book in just 6 week's time, and meeting Joe Traeger, father of the wood pellet grill.
4) Did you overcome obstacles - take risks - get lucky? All of the above. Obstacle--first time author, never did a talk show until 2001. Left a corporation to go to work for a privately held family business.
5) What have you done that no one would guess you'd done upon first meeting you? I studied for the ministry when I was younger.
6) What is still left to be done in your life? To take my weekly radio show national, write more books on barbecuing, grilling and smoking-which end up on the NY Times best seller list, get a weekly cable show. Wind up as a feature in the Wall St. Journal, travel to every well know barbecue spot in America.
