Harvard School of Public Health - The Nutrition Source
Visit Website
What is it?
The Nutrition Source website is maintained by the Department of Nutrition at the Harvard School of Public Health.
Why Visit?
This is a beautiful site, maintained by the Department of Nutrition at the Harvard School of Public Health. If you've spent any time browsing the Web for information on nutrition, (especially vitamins and supplements), then you know how difficult it is to separate facts from fiction. Many claims are made about the benefits of supplements, and not all of them are based on science.
Harvard's Nutrition Source is an effort to cut through the confusion. This site speaks with authority and offers a tempered, balanced perspective on healthy eating and related subjects. Launched in 2003, the Nutrition Source does not accept advertising or commercial sponsorship, and does not endorse any products. All the content is reviewed by faculty or invited experts.
Nutrition Source is visually appealing and very easy to use. An interactive Food Pyramid on the home page offers an up-to-date take on the classroom classic. Healthy diet, attaining and maintaining a healthy weight, vitamins and supplements, recipes and nutrition in the news are some of the sub-pages, on which you will find many links to further subjects.
This is really one of the most content-rich and well-designed sites on the critical subject of nutrition I've ever seen. It's well-worth an hour or even an afternoon to search and read.
