Verving Privacy Policy
Verving, Inc. ("Verving") is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Verving's Privacy Policy is designed to help you understand how we collect and use the personal information you decide to share, and help you make informed decisions when using the Verving website. By using or accessing the Verving website, you are accepting the practices outlined in this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy covers Verving's treatment of personal information that Verving gathers when you are on the Verving website and when you use Verving services. This policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that Verving does not own or control, or to individuals that Verving does not employ or manage.
What we collect
We collect the following two types of information from our Verving users:
Information You Provide to Us
We receive and store any information you enter on our website or provide to us in any other way. You can choose not to provide us with certain information, but then you may not be able to take advantage of many of our features.
In order for you to use Verving services, such as posting and reviewing websites, you must complete a registration form. As part of this registration form, we require select personal information (including your full name, city, state and e-mail address).
To allow you to express yourself beyond just the information collected during registration, we enable you to provide additional information, such as a bio, favorite URLs, and blog post comments. In addition, you may choose to include photos of yourself in your profile. As indicated below, in the section titled "Sharing Your Information", you can control how your information is displayed and used.
If you choose to use our invitation service to tell a friend about our site, we will ask you for information needed to send the invitation, such as your friend's email address. We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the site. Verving stores this information to send this one-time invitation, to register a friend if your invitation is accepted, and to track the success of our referral program. Your friend may contact us at privacy@verving.com to request that we remove this information from our database.
Automatic Information
We receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with us. Verving and its authorized agents automatically receive and record certain "traffic data" on their server logs from your browser including your IP address, Verving cookie information, and the page you requested. Verving uses this traffic data to help diagnose problems with its servers, analyze trends and administer the website.
E-mail communications
Verving is concerned about your privacy and we will not provide your email address to unaffiliated third parties without your permission, as detailed in the "Sharing Your Information" section below. Verving may send out e-mails with Verving-related news, products, offers, surveys or promotions. You may also receive notification e-mails from Verving, which inform you of actions (e.g. friend requests) that have been performed on the site. If you do not want to receive e-mail from us, please contact us at privacy@verving.com and/or follow the instructions contained in the unwanted e-mail message. However, please note that in all cases you will continue to receive all system e-mails (e.g. those regarding forgotten user passwords) and legal notices (e.g. updates to our policies) from us.
Security
We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
