What is it? Want to know more about the public schools in your area? This is a useful site – it has only one purpose – to educate us on public schools. It gives the actual test scores by percentages in math and reading, the average class size and also has a section for reviews by parents or graduates.
Why Visit? High schools in our area are actively recruiting – it is as competitive as college. Choosing a school has become an issue in today’s world starting with elementary through high school. While this site is still in its infancy - many of the features are still being filled out - it is worth a visit to get basic information, and worth going back to see what else has been submitted. The visual appeal of the site is limited, but it does provide basic information, provided by the trusted source Standard and Poor's.
These sites are important when new and choosing an elementary school. We don’t know what to ask or what might be best. Test scores are not everything, but can be a starting point. I like the opinion page, but found limited responses to the schools I checked. Past experiences written by students and parents would be a big help, so hopefully the site will be rounded with more in time.
This site only assesses public schools so I would also use other sites to see comparisons for private schools. If you are active in any student’s life you will want to take the time to check this site!
